Chopinhauer’s guide to the web 1

“When the wise points the sky, the fool looks at the finger.”

It seems to me that Google is sometimes such a fool. It was brought indeed to my attention when looking at my logs that a certain amount of people was sent here by google after making a search for my colleague Oana Ivanovici. Apparently pointing a finger to her homepage on my blog brought the attention of Google to my finger and placed me high in the results ranking.

I encountered similar anomalies with several people that I have linked on my pages (I appear even as first result for “madore blog” :-) ).

Anyway for the lost surfers, I can provide some more links on Oana with a quick web search. I have in my Gallery a couple of pictures depicting her:

Googles seems to point also to a Romanian article of an online magazine.

  1. Hello,
I descovered your blog by making a query with the key word « parlez vous français »
I like very much your blog.
I like is as much as JC Grangé’s book « purple rivers ». I even prefer the book to Mathieu Kassovitz’s film. I even think JC Grangé is having fun making fun of people he encountered on one of his trips. That’s my point of view. Her in France people told me it is a sheer coincidence and that it is not personal . Is it not?
