Mob Wars Helper (version 1.0-beta2)

Filed under: Mob Wars — Piotr P. Karwasz @ 1:29 pm

[This version of the script is OBSOLETE. For more informations and new releases check the Mob Wars Helper category.]

I just discovered that Facebook introduced a new layout that uses different URLs (apps.new.facebook.com), so I am obliged to release a quick fix to work with the new layout.

Mob Wars Helper: version 1.0-beta2a

Also available at Userscripts.org

For more informations on installation, please read the FAQ.

[Update: I eventually managed to go to jail, so now the script recognizes jail and sets the appropriate delay for actions. Hence beta2a.]

  4. Simply amazing :D loving the new update … keep up the good work.
Also i found some info tht might help u wth the Hospital coding ….
    =========================
    The Hospital
    Insuccesso:
A doctor can only heal you if you are below 60 health.

    You cannot heal any further.
    ============================
I dint do ne health upgrade (Health:100) so the limit is either 60 or 60% of total health. To test it open the hospital page in multiple tabs, heal as far u can do in one tab, then switch to another tab and try to heal. i`ll try it myself on next level up

    Hope this helps :)

  5. Anonymous: Thanks a lot. It’s actually 60% (150/250 for me). I thought maybe it was increasing with the level, but it’s not.

  6. Important: I discovered that the equipment is chosen in a different way that I anticipated: if you have a mob of size 1 and you have a Colt 1911 and a 44 Magnum you will fight with both weapons at the same time.

This means that the purchase suggestions may not be 100% accurate.

  11. am i stupid …..how do u install this script…… :P

    Comment by Anonymous — 27/7/2008 @ 6:54 am

  12. To install this script, you first need to install Grease Monkey: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

    Comment by Anonymous — 29/7/2008 @ 5:15 am

  13. Thanks for making this free~!

    Comment by Ray — 30/7/2008 @ 8:05 pm

  14. Just a quick note… on the Stockpile page where the script states what weapons are not being used, you need to add 1 to the total mobsters. I just noticed that while it says 2 body armours are unused, I actually only have 1 unused (I’ve got 350 and it said after a fight I fought with 349.) I guess it’s taking the mob number from the page and not realising that the Boss himself is a number not included in that.

    Comment by George Hafiz — 31/7/2008 @ 1:56 am

  15. Oh yah, i noticed that too. BTW, the healing function dun work for me as in by the time i needed healing i am dead. >.< LOL~

    Comment by Ray — 31/7/2008 @ 2:30 pm

  16. George Hafiz: I still didn’t get what is the total number of mobsters. If I have 0 mobsters, the counter on the page shows 1 and I can fight with 2 (does my boss count for 2?).
    I think it’s a bug in the game…

  17. from where can i download it?

    Comment by hetfield — 3/8/2008 @ 11:03 am

  18. Ok, not sure about this one, and have not seen anyone else with this issue.

I do not own 39 Turret-Armed Humvees, but when I go to the Stockpile page it says that I do, but that they are unused. So my upkeep is in the millions, but does not seem to read it from the City page.

    Any ideas?

    Comment by Dream — 4/8/2008 @ 6:27 am

  19. Dream: You probably resetted the account, so the script has the old data. Uninstall the script deleting also the preferences and reinstall it.

hetfield: There are links to download it in the post. Two out of three are the good ones.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 5/8/2008 @ 10:03 am

  20. Ray: It heals you when it knows that you need healing. It does not reload the page constantly to check your health. So it knows that you need healing when you bank some money or perform a job, if you died meantime the script couldn’t do anything (anyway if you are hitlisted, healing does not do much).

  21. Hello,

I am sure know you are working more on Pack Rat, but I was just wondering, when you have time, to add a feature for the In Jail part of the game. I do appreciate the fact the script recognized that I am in jail, and doesn’t constantly refresh ever 10 secs. Is it possible to make it refresh every 25 mins (time to regain 5 Energy) so I can attempt to “bust out of jail.”

    Comment by jcbhntz — 5/8/2008 @ 3:31 pm

  22. Firstly, this is a great little script.
Now, do u have any future plans on adding an attack module. Where the script will randomly attack any mobster based on the maximum mob size of enemies you can safely attack.

Other than that, you script is pretty full featured, good stuff.

    Comment by jerrylousie — 7/8/2008 @ 10:09 am

  23. jcbhntz: How often do you end up in jail? I was in jail once and I’ve done more than 300 jobs. In my experience you can end up in jail only with low level jobs.

jerrylousie: I think to add something that attacks people based on their properties (e.g. only with Casino) and mob size. I’d really like to know the exact equations for fighting so that I can compute the maximum mob size that it’s safe to attack.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 7/8/2008 @ 3:51 pm

  24. I do Drug Dealing because I prefer Experience/Energy to level up. So I have done 774 jobs with 23 trips to jail. I guess it isn’t needed because I can hit “F5″ or just log out and read a book or something.

    Comment by jcbhntz — 7/8/2008 @ 4:09 pm

  25. FYI:

    8/7/2008
Made a bunch of changes that you hopefully won’t even notice in preparation for a captcha system (image verification thing) that should be really convenient for humans but very hard for bots. This should eliminate all bot issues pretty much forever.

    Comment by jcbhntz — 7/8/2008 @ 11:10 pm

  26. jcbhntz: The difference between Drug Dealing and a well paid job in terms of experience is minimal, whereas in terms of payout is enormous. It’s much better to buy city and stockpile and win the difference in terms of fighting.

IMHO captchas are a really bad idea. People won’t enjoy a game where you must enter a verification code every 5 minutes.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 8/8/2008 @ 2:27 am

  27. I saw my first captcha today. It looks fairly simple to defeat.

    Comment by Jerry — 9/8/2008 @ 8:23 pm

  28. Jerry: Where does it appear? On which occasion?

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 9/8/2008 @ 9:54 pm

  29. I had it appear after I did a job. I had it in another tab and I looked back and there it was. The script was trying to do something and the captcha said I entered the first code wrong, but I managed to do the second one manually.

I saved the HTML output. I can mail it to you if you want.

    Comment by Jerry — 10/8/2008 @ 2:20 am

  30. I found your email address on the sidebar and sent you the output.

I saw someone in the discussion group say that it came up when they tried to do a hit too.

    Comment by Jerry — 10/8/2008 @ 2:25 am

  31. Jerry: Thanks, I’ll look into it (and try also to have a captcha of my own :-) ).

  32. I’v already got greasemonkey. But how do i install the mob wars script? It keeps saying:microsoft j-script runtime error.

    Comment by Nikolaj — 10/8/2008 @ 7:53 pm

  33. I get that error
“Error in module ‘datadisplay’ on line 1563: itemlist[i] is undefined”

    Comment by Alex — 10/8/2008 @ 9:21 pm

  34. THx i fixed that by edit firewall

    Comment by Alex — 10/8/2008 @ 9:27 pm

  35. Nikolaj: I seems to me that you are trying to install the script with Internet Explorer. Open your Firefox and download it with it and the script will install. You’ll have to use Firefox also to play the game.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 10/8/2008 @ 9:43 pm

  36. I just got the captcha when healing in the hospital, fyi.

    Comment by Jerry — 11/8/2008 @ 12:08 am

  37. The captcha is a joke lol … got it today in the hitlist, took me like 5 mins to automate it … hahaha
I liked the invisible submit button one better … took me almost a day to break that one :P (the toolkit guyz are still trying to figure it out lol)

    Comment by Brainwalker — 12/8/2008 @ 9:19 am

  38. But how do u get rid of tht annoying “This page is being heavily limited to try to stop facebook from shutting down the game completely. Please avoid constantly refreshing this page.” msg ?

    Comment by Brainwalker — 12/8/2008 @ 9:27 am

  39. This is probably going to be a lame question but I am going to ask anyway. Does anyone know (beyond the obvious reasons) why this script won’t work in Safari with GreaseKit? I get that it was designed for GreaseMonkey and FF. But Greasekit is compatible with most GM Scripts.

    Thanks

    Comment by Nor Mac — 14/8/2008 @ 1:07 am

  40. Nor Mac: Personally, I find your question interesting. The only non-standard function I use in these scripts is Mozilla’s Object.toSource method. This can be easily reimplemented in JavaScript.

Since there is no native version of Safari for Linux, I’ll try to run the script on Midori which uses the same WebKit engine as Safari and see if there other problems.

Brainwalker: Could you send me (at piotr DOT karwasz AT gmail DOT com) the HTML source of a page where the captcha appears? An entire week after the release of captchas I still haven’t seen any.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 14/8/2008 @ 5:37 pm

  41. sent u the captcha pages along wth the hitlist script i made. just keep the hitlist running u’ll run into the captcha for sure .. lol. btw it doesnt work fully after they added the new captcha with image :(

    Comment by Brainwalker — 14/8/2008 @ 11:24 pm

  42. Hi Piotr,
I just wanted to say this script ROCKS.

Any chance you wanna add the Space Raiders app and do a script for that one? (Please?) :D

  43. I got the image verification thing too.

    Comment by Ray — 17/8/2008 @ 9:07 pm

  44. there is new additions to the game. Script doesn’t recognize anything for me.

    Comment by jcbhntz — 17/8/2008 @ 10:53 pm

  45. Ray: Thanks, I also got captchas. When I have time I’ll make a release that stops when a captcha is detected, so that you can insert the verification code yourself. On the other side the code is quite short (3 letters), so maybe a brute force attack could solve the captcha automatically.

jcbhntz: I have just found out myself. The script does not find Mugging, so it thinks that there are no jobs available. You can look into the code and delete the following line in the jobs_exec function:

    if (!jobs["1"]) return;

As far as I’ve tested healing and banking works. I don’t have time right now to look into this script and anyway I’ll wait until these new features stabilize (there are two different “Liquor Smuggling” jobs, that differ only in the payout…).

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 17/8/2008 @ 11:32 pm

  46. Wow, that would be great if you could get it to work with greasekit/ webkit.

I am playing on a Mac (if it matters).

You should know that with greasekit/ Safari, it the information box does not even show up when I am on MobWars. Not sure if that matters or not. So it looks like it doesn’t work at all. If there is any testing you want me to do on my end, please let me know.

    Comment by Nor Mac — 20/8/2008 @ 12:53 am

  47. Nor Mac: That’s normal, if you look into the Safari’s equivalent of Firefox’s Error Console you’ll find something like “toSource is not a function”.

    Comment by Piotr P. Karwasz — 20/8/2008 @ 9:40 pm

  48. Hey guys,

I’m trying to break the code too.
I’m trying to find the relationship of the random value, the user id and the hash created with first 2 vars and the text of the captcha.

    hash = F(user_id, rand, verify_code)

    http://75.101.213.134/img/captcha_image.php?rand=407719206&user_id=1379565338&hash=9ddbf3af9b0403096357324c30d79a08 NGM

I’ve tried simple permutations but I’m not getting anything. My next approach is a rainbowtable attack with at least size(rand)+size(user_id)+size(verify_code)=9+10+3= 22. I think there is a salt that makes harder to find the relation.

Has anyone tried to find the relation so far?
