4.0 Installing Debian on my laptop

Installing linux on a laptop can be problematic. Here you can find the problems I encountered installing Debian Sarge on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A 7620-2610, however they should apply to the whole Amilo A series.

4.1 Mathematical programs

Have you ever thought how to calculate the pi number with an arbitrary precision? Or have you ever thought of using the pi number to compose sound?
If your answer is yes the following programs can help you in solving your trouble or curiosity.

• pi and neper A simple example of use of the multiprecision libraries in order to calculate pi and e with a very great precision. The results given by these programs are accessible in the data section.
  These programs need the GMP in order to work. Don't worry they are open source.
• pisound-- Would you like to hear some music generated by the pi number?

4.2 3d programs

If you like solving rubik you would like to use a program for automatically generate every possible cube and to play with it.
