Small Tux

This page is terribly outdated. Not outdated like "Oops, I've forgotten to mention what I had for breakfast today", but rather like "Ten years you've got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun". I'll update it before August, by then it should be probably not as detailed as David's autobiography, but certainly better.

2. My life

I was born in Sopot in Poland on June, 1st 1981 and I spent my spent my childhood in this little town at the seaside.

In 1985 my father went for the first time to Trento (Italy) for work duties and I followed him with my mother and my little brother. After the return in Poland I attended there the last two years of the kindergarten and my first year in the primary school.

In 1990 I moved definitively to Italy when I finished my primary school (5 years) and the low secondary school which I attended at the "Scuola Normale Annessa al Conservatorio". In fact it was strictly linked with the school of music where I played violin.

These years increased my passion for the classical music, which helped me in the difficult moments of my life and taught me quite a lot violin technique to fill the gaps in my work with some composition of Bach or Paganini.

The years of the college passed very quickly. I was at the "Liceo Scientifico Arcivescovile", a catholic private school, which thanks of the contribution of the Italian State and the Church of Trento was accessible for everyone.

I don't want you to think it was a school of ideology. In fact, in my humble opinion, in Italy the ideology schools are only those which confess a perfect political balance. When I was at the college there was only one student political association and it has its office in the public school. But let don't talk of this argument, which seems the only one when everyone has his own opinion.

At the 5th and last year of college I had the pleasure to participate at the International Mathematical Olympiads hold that year in the South Korean city Taejon. I dedicated one of the next sections to this experience.

The beginning of the University was quite frustrating for me. I wasn't admitted to the Scuola Normale Superiore for the fault of being a Polish citizen, so I was compelled to go to the State University of the same city where SNS is: Pisa.

But not everything was wrong and I owe to my "inferior" position the fact that I met many good friends which otherwise I would probably never have met if I would have been closed in the ivory tower of the SNS.

The situation changed when I discovered in one of the garbage expedition to the Net that at the École Normale Supérieure of Paris exist a "International Selection" for foreigner students.

Well, I try to cut it with this stuff: I passed the selection after two years in Pisa and now here I am in Paris.

2.2 FOAF Description

You will find here my FOAF (Friend of a friend) description. It's a machine readable file that describes my relations with other people and probably helps FBI in filling in my dossier. You'll find more information on the FOAF project on the project's homepage.
